Basic Vertical Training Info

National Speleological Society (NSS) Vertical Section and FRG member Kurt Waldron will be instructing the NSS Vertical Section’s Basic Vertical Training as a service of the Front Royal Grotto. He will use the NSS Vertical Section’s “Basic Vertical Training Students Manual” to teach safe vertical practices to anyone who is interested.

Students that successfully complete the course will receive a Certificate for their records.

Tim White, the NSS Vertical Section’s Nylon Highway Editor, Bridge Day Safety Team Member and Moderator for the NSS On Rope Forum, said, “I have full confidence in you (Kurt) teaching a single rope techniques (SRT) class.”

With the NSS Vertical Section’s blessing, Kurt is prepared to accept the responsibility of providing people interested in learning a basic understanding of the concepts and equipment needed to properly execute SRT.

Kurt will begin the training on May 22nd and continue each Tuesday evening from 7-10 p.m.
